About Novastra

Q1
What is Novastra Technologies and what do you do?

Novastra Technologies is an advisory and strategic-technology enterprise focused on defence, aerospace, space and emerging technologies. We provide engineering, strategic advisory, applied research, product development and partnership services to build indigenous capabilities that support national priorities.

Q2
Where is Novastra based?

Our registered office is: 235, Binamangala, 2nd Floor, 13th Cross Road, Indira Nagar 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560038. We work with distributed teams and partners across India.

Q3
What are Novastra's primary services?

We focus on four pillars:

  • Engineering: Technology design and prototyping
  • Strategic Advisory: Product design and development, policy, procurement and capability planning
  • Innovation & IP: Research, incubation, prototyping and commercialisation
  • Trade & Partnerships: Market access and global structuring
Q4
What is unique about Novastra Technologies compared to other similar companies?

Novastra is distinct in three fundamental ways:

  • Battlefield-driven, future-proof concepts: We understand the battlefield and design technologies and advice around foreseeable tactical and operational imperatives in tomorrow's combat environment—not just today's specifications.
  • Democratized co-ownership of innovation: We don't just provide a platform for exceptional talent; we enable contributors to contractually co-own what they create, so their work builds both capability for the nation and a lasting personal legacy.
  • Bridging vision, technology, and industry: We specialize in closing the gap between military vision, real-world weapons and concepts, and indigenous private manufacturing—leveraging existing technologies and talent in innovative ways, without unnecessarily reinventing the wheel.
Q5
How does Novastra Technologies contribute towards Atmanirbhar Bharat vision for Defence and Aerospace?

Novastra Technologies is committed towards developing indigenous novel solutions for Defense and Aerospace. We recognise the gap between long-term-military vision and its translation into operational and tactical necessities driving the development of technologies and products.

We assist companies in recognising which technologies and products are likely to stay relevant, into which they must invest, and how they can be designed for the soldier using them. As an aggregator of technical talent and harbouring deep conceptual insights on mechanics of conflict, we use democratisation to develop cutting edge technologies and encourage companies to collaborate with us as incubators.

Collaboration & Democratisation Model

Q6
What does the democratisation model mean?

Democratisation makes contribution and access to product development open and fair. Experts, small teams and contributors can participate in ideation, design, and execution, and receive a transparent share of outcomes proportional to verified contribution. The model formalises how contributions are measured, how IP is handled, and how proceeds are distributed.

Q7
What are the stages in the development cycle of Novastra Technologies as per its democratisation model?

The Novastra development cycle follows a structured approach through ideation, validation, development, testing, and commercialisation — with contributor allocations tracked at each stage. Contact us for detailed documentation on the process.

Q8
Are contributor allocations immediate payments or equity/rights that vest?

Allocations for project contributors vest upon monetisation of the project. Contributors must conform to milestones and deliverable timelines. This ensures transparency, continued commitment and aligns incentives with delivery.

Q9
How can my organisation partner or collaborate with Novastra?

Email collaborate@novastratech.in with a one-page summary of your proposal. For project enquiries, include scope, timelines, and any regulatory or security constraints. We aim to respond within 24–48 hours.

Q10
What do I gain if the idea or technology concept is accepted by Novastra?

You will be made the project lead or a part of the core group for development of the concept/idea. Your rewards will follow our democratisation model on completion of the project and its monetisation.

Q11
Who can contribute technical work and how are contributors selected?

Engineers, researchers, domain specialists and industry professionals can contribute. Project requirements and open problem statements are posted on the Engineering Page. Interested contributors should send proposals to info@novastratech.in ; selections are based on technical merit and practical applicability.

Advisory & Consultation

Q12
What makes Novastra's advisory different from a traditional defence consultancy?

Three things:

  • Operational grounding: Our advisors have real military and systems experience, not just analytical credentials
  • Independence: We have no product or vendor interest
  • Democratization: Our experts are named, verified, and fairly compensated — not anonymous contractors behind a firm's brand
Q13
Who are Novastra's advisory clients?

We serve three primary client types:

  • Government and armed forces bodies seeking strategic clarity on capability, procurement, or doctrine
  • Manufacturers and developers seeking design direction and market validation
  • Investors seeking operationally grounded technology intelligence

Engagements are confidential unless clients approve disclosure.

Q14
How does Novastra ensure quality in its advisory outputs?

Every advisor on our platform has been through a structured capability and competency assessment — not just a CV review. Advisory outputs are reviewed by senior Novastra principals before delivery. We stand behind our work with our name.

Q15
Can Novastra work on classified or sensitive advisory engagements?

Yes. Where engagements require access to sensitive government information, participating advisors hold appropriate security clearances. Stricter NDAs (10-year term) apply. All materials handled under government-approved protocols.

Q16
How are advisory fees structured?

Fees are engagement-specific and agreed in the proposal stage. Consultants retain 85–90% of fees. All fee structures are disclosed transparently — there are no hidden management margins or undisclosed costs.

Q17
Can I join Novastra's advisory network as a part-time or retired professional?

Yes. Many of our most valuable advisors are retired senior officers, former procurement officials, and experienced industry executives engaged on a part-time or project basis. Our model is explicitly designed for this — you contribute your expertise, we provide the platform, clients, and commercial structure.

Q18
How does the co-ownership model apply to advisory work?

Advisory outputs (white papers, strategic assessments, methodology tools) developed through Novastra engagements are jointly attributed. Where advisory work leads to a development project, contributing advisors participate in the project's co-ownership framework — sharing in commercialisation returns proportional to their contribution.

Q19
Can Novastra advise on both the government side and industry side simultaneously?

No. We maintain strict conflict-of-interest protocols. When advising a government body on a procurement, we do not simultaneously advise competing manufacturers on that same procurement. Independence is non-negotiable.

Product Development Lifecycle

Q20
How are milestones and acceptance criteria enforced?

Projects use written milestone agreements with objective deliverables and acceptance tests. Contribution credit or equity conversion gets formalized only when acceptance criteria are met and documented.

Investment, Commercialisation & Exits

Q21
How does capital investment translate into project shares or returns?

Capital is treated as a separate tranche (recommended 10–15% of project allocation). Investor returns and rights are established in a subscription or investment agreement and reflect pro rata share of the capital tranche. Terms specify liquidation preferences, anti-dilution and reporting obligations.

Knowledge & Ownership

Q24
How can I propose an idea or submit a technology concept?

Send a short description, key value proposition, and any supporting materials to info@novastratech.in . We review submissions and respond with next steps within 48–72 hours.

Q25
Will article and research paper contributors be acknowledged and credited for their work?

Yes. Contributors receive attribution in publications and product documentation. Co-ownership, citation and public recognition are core to our model; financial or equity participation is handled per the documented allocation and governance rules.

Q26
Can I submit an article I have already published elsewhere?

We accept original work. If your article has been previously published, we can accept it only with clear disclosure and the original publisher's permission.

Q27
Can I publish anonymously?

For most content, no — we emphasize author attribution. However, for sensitive policy analysis or classified-adjacent topics, we can explore anonymity or partial anonymity options with explicit justification. Contact info@novastratech.in to discuss.

Q28
Do I retain copyright to my article?

Yes. You retain full copyright. Novastra receives a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and archive your work. You can republish or adapt it independently (with attribution to Novastra as original publisher).

Q29
What if I want to remove or unpublish my article?

You have the right to request unpublishing. Once unpublished, new readers cannot access it. However, existing citations remain valid (the URL is archived). This is rare; we encourage contributors to think carefully before submitting if they may want to remove it later.

Q30
Can I make money from publishing on Novastra?

Not directly through the platform. However, published expertise opens doors: consulting opportunities, speaking engagements, advisory roles, and potential co-development projects with Novastra (where you would participate in equity if the work leads to a development initiative). The value is in recognition and opportunity, not direct payment.

Q31
How are wargames structured? Can I participate?

Wargames vary widely. Strategic-level games typically involve 8–15 senior experts over 2–4 days. Technology-focused simulations may be shorter and more specialized. If you're interested in participating, submit your profile via info@novastratech.in. We invite qualified experts to participate in exercises matching their expertise.

Q32
Can I host a custom wargame for my organization?

Yes. Novastra designs and facilitates custom wargames for government bodies, companies, research institutions, and investor groups. Contact consult@novastratech.in to discuss your strategic question and scope. We'll design an exercise tailored to your needs — findings can be published or kept confidential, your choice.
